Ahnu (Must Be Adopted With Dozer) – ADOPTED!
Hi there, my name is Ahnu and I will always be there for you! I am mostly GSP but also have a bit of a Spaniel in me so I am especially smart, at least that’s what my mama always told people. I learn stuff really quickly and know all my basic commands: sit, stay, come, and down and know how to heel and walk on my mama’s left side. And I’m house and crate trained. I am not destructive and did not like or need to be crated when Mama went out to do errands.
I am a young 4-year-old and I love exercise, followed by cuddling. My mama used to take me on jogs (well, she mostly trotted) around the neighborhood and we had a big yard. I trained quickly on Invisible Fence and loved being out in my yard. And I especially love playing with my fur-sister Dozer who is 5 ½. Playing with a tennis ball and Frisbee is a lot of fun, too. I eye the squirrels but so far have been good. I play well with dogs but small ones and cats may not be a good idea. I’ve not been around children but I am friendly so it would probably work well if they are not too young. I love riding in a vehicle, especially with my sister.
Things have been rough for us lately. My Mama died very suddenly and that has been very tough on all of us. I have adapted to my new foster situation very easily in the past couple of weeks especially because the three of us (all GSPs) were able to stay together in one foster home. Because our mama’s home also had a wonderful senior GSP I am really attuned to household dynamics. I figure things out really fast.
The rescue wants to keep Dozer and me together because we love being and playing together and we depend on each other. And we really love being with humans who are around a lot, like someone who works mostly from home or is an active retired person, like our Mama was. Because our living situation has been disrupted, we need the security of having our human nearby, at least for part of the day. Mama was not sure about hunting, in spite of my genes. One time she was having some work done on the house and the sound of the sledgehammer really scared me.
But I am a really sweet, wonderful and caring little girl. And Mom said that I am really smart, too!
NOTE: Dozer and I need to be adopted together.
