Annie – ADOPTED!
Meet Annie . . . that’s me! I’m a purebred GSP and I’m 8-years-old. But just look at me. Do I look like I’m 8? I’m a pretty typical GSP in many ways because I love spending much of my life outdoors: camping, hiking, fishing, and sunbathing on the deck in the morning sun. I am a trained hunter and it’s very obvious because I do love to point. Hunting was the reason my previous owner had me. I am well trained on an e-collar and I prefer wearing that so I can be off leash. But I walk well on a leash, as well. I also love to play fetch so I guess that means I’m a retriever, too!! I also like being in the house and since I’ve been with my foster mom, I’ve not had a single accident so my foster mom says I’m totally potty trained.
During the day when she is gone I have free reign of the house. I’m OK because I have two other dog buddies there with me. She also turns on the TV or a radio so we have lots of entertainment. And I’m not even very interested in getting up on the furniture, probably because I never had that opportunity in my other home. At night I sleep right next to my foster mom’s bed on a doggie bed.
My foster mom says that although I’m not very playful with other dogs, I’m amazing with all sizes and breeds. I do kind of like doing my own things but I’m just fine being with other pups, too. Because I have a hunting background, I don’t think I’d be very good with cats, though. But I love meeting new people. I want everyone to pet me so I nudge the people I meet a little with my head to make sure they see me waiting for that special pet. And I’m good with kids, too!
I really like being with my foster mom because we do so many fun things together. She’s told me that she thinks I’m quite wonderful: affectionate, loyal and pretty laid back. For a GSP I am kind of a mellow girl at home and I love snuggling but I also want to spend a lot of my time outdoors with someone who wants me to be an important part of their family.
