Astrid
I’m ASTRID, a 6-year-old purebred GSP! I’m headed for the rescue in just a week and am really looking for a happy home with a family who understands what it’s like to live with a GSP. As my current owners know, we have lots of energy! But my current mom tells everyone what a really sweet little girl I am, too. You can tell how much I love people by my wiggly butt and enthusiasm when I meet them. Please contact the rescue if you would like to foster or adopt me! 720-373-7274
I am crate trained and mostly house broken. I know a few basic commands but also know some hand signals. My mom says I am a really smart little girl and am very trainable and it helps that I am very food motivated. I am somewhat leash trained but I do pull a little and really don’t quite know about heel. When we’ve been outside lately for walks, it’s been pretty cold in Utah so my mom puts a coat on me. I LOVE wearing my coat! When I’m outside in a yard with a 6 ft fence, I have a blast running and running and I don’t ever challenge the fence, but if there is no fence and because I have a strong prey drive, I could take off. And because I’m pretty smart, I could probably be trained on a collar to have great recall.
I love being with my family and am great with kids. We have 3-year-old and a 4-year-old children and I adore them. We have lots of toys and I really like playing with and stealing them from the other GSP in the family. It’s a fun game. I’m also great with other dogs, large dogs that is. I’m not very excited having to be with small dogs.
I would really like to have some more training with my new family so I hope they would like to do that with me. I will also need a little help with house training. I’m pretty good for a few hours but then I need to be taken outside. So, I would like help with that. But overall, I am a delightful little girl with a wonderful temperament. I’m very affectionate, great with kids and large dogs, and I’m eager to learn. And I love my people!
