Bailee – ADOPTED!
Things my new home/family needs to know about me:
I love to spend time outdoors running, sunning, and chasing birds.
I love being with all people AND dogs!
Everyone says I’m especially sweet.
I need at least one other dog (GSPs would be great!) in my new family.
I’m very birdy and am probably too interested in chickens.
I need more training, especially on recall and “stay.”
Hi, my name is Bailee, that’s right, spelled with an E not a Y 🙂
I am a very affectionate, sweet, squinty brown eyed GSP, about 3 years old.
I am not an alpha dog by any means, nor am I aggressive. I love every dog – and person – I have so far met.
Before I came to live with my foster mom, I was living in Texas with some larger dogs that kept picking on me. I did not like that, and they made me nervous since I am not aggressive or alpha at all.
Right now, I get to live with 3 other GSPs, in a big yard where we all have lots of room to run and romp around. We all get along great, and have fun exploring together. We play some, we chase some, but I am more interested in just running around and chasing birds. I do like toys, and pick them up, and run around with them as well. If I had a buddy that was really playful, I probably would play a lot with them.
We have chickens here at my foster home and I am really obsessed with them. I can see them and hear them, and it drives me crazy that I can’t get to them. I don’t think my foster mom would be too happy if I ended up catching one (or all) of them even though I wish I could !!
I also enjoy just hanging out in the yard on the grass and soaking in the sunshine. I have a doggie door too, so I can go in and out of the house as I please.
I wear a PETSAFE underground fence collar just in case my foster mom thinks I may jump the fence outside. The wire is on top of the fence, and it beeps at me if I get too close to the fence line. Most of the fence here is 6’, but there are some sections that are 5’. I know what the beep means, so I do not get any closer to it, and I have not tried to jump the fence at all. In fact, I do not even wear the collar any longer since I am not really interested in jumping.
At night when we all hang out inside, I prefer to sleep on a dog bed next to the couch, or sometimes on one specific comfy chair. I do love to crawl on laps, though!
At bedtime, I usually sleep all curled up on the same dog bed in the living room, even though there is a dog bed in my foster mom’s bedroom. Sometimes, early in the morning, I’ll go into her bedroom and put my front paws up on the side of the bed and give her kisses to wake her up. The other dogs get up on the couch, but so far, that is not really of any interest to me.
I am a really good house dog and am definitely potty trained. I have not been in a crate at my foster mom’s house. I like toys but I have not chewed up anything in the house. I have carried shoes around, and sometimes place them strategically in the yard somewhere, so my foster mom has to find them 😊. But since I have a doggie door, I can go when I need to. I can sit, and I am working on recall and the stay command. I am also being trained on an e-collar, so I can hopefully run off leash with my pals. I am not very good on the leash at this point, but we are working on that too. The leash seems too confining to me right now but knowing that I have a lot of room to run around here, I think I will soon not be so leery of the leash. Though I may not be perfect on a leash I sure like riding in the car.
My Foster Mom knows I am crazy about chickens but doesn’t know if I am trained to hunt. But since I am obsessed with birds, (and chickens), I might be an OK hunter with adequate training?
I absolutely love everyone I meet: adults, kids, and even people in costumes! In fact, I have been to a couple outdoor parties with my Foster Mom, and I have figured out how to work the crowd. I don my little squinty eyes and wag my long tail and butt really really hard, and everyone just swoons over me. I slowly work my way into your lap, and your heart. And I absolutely love all that attention. I’ve got that part figured out :-).
I am looking for a forever home with a nice big yard, lots of space to run around in, and hopefully another dog or two, preferably a GSPs, to pal around and play with! A 6’fence will keep me safely in the yard, just in case.
Everyone that meets me thinks I am the sweetest and most affectionate pup ever. I just want to be loved, and I ooze love, and I want happiness all around. I will bring that to you.
Please consider bringing me into your home. I promise to bring you lots of joy and happiness. I love it here at my foster home, but she cannot keep me forever, even though I think she would want to 😊
