Bailey – Adopted!

My name is Bailey, and my owners aren’t sure how old I am (maybe 6?) because I was found a couple of years ago as a stray. I was full grown then and fast as lightning. I still am! My owner doesn’t know much about me, but thinks I was trained as a hunting dog. Although he loves me very much, we’ve recently moved in with his partner and I’m not too happy. I don’t have the space that I used to have and I have to share the small house with three other dogs! I need more space and less competition for my human’s attention. I am hoping to find a home where I can have lots of play time and affection, but also quiet time to rest when I am tired from running around.

Speaking of running, my very favorite thing to do is run. I am always on the lookout for birds and if I find one, I will point. I know some commands like here, sit, stay, down, off, and wait. Outside I also love to catch frisbees, and I will keep bringing them back for as long as you want to throw them! In the house I like to curl up in my dog bed or lay on top of you. You may not think so, but I think I am a perfect fit for your lap or any tiny space available next to you. Sometimes at night I get cranky and just want to be left alone in my bed — so it’s important that I have my own space. With not much fur, I like to cover myself up with a blanket in my bed, a good sign that I am tucked in and wanting to be left alone. I am happy to meet other dogs when I am outside running around, but not much interested in playing — it’s much more fun to run around looking for birds! I am used to an e-collar and it can be good to remind me to come back when I have gotten carried away with running around.

Other things about me — I am completely house-trained and don’t need a crate (I really don’t like them anyway). I get super excited about going anywhere so I’m not great on a leash. Running in open space or catching the frisbee in the park is the best way for me to get exercise. My new owners should like to go outside and take me with them, or if they have a lot of land, I will just run around like crazy, all on my own. I would probably not be best with small kids because I’ll knock them over. I’ve never met cats, but I’d probably be spooked. Other than that, I am a sweet and sensitive girl with a lot of love to give (watch out for kisses)!
