JoJo – ADOPTED
UPDATE for Clarence: 4-18-2022
Well, my new name is JOJO and I love it! Here is what my temporary fosters say about me:
1) JOJO really needs another young, energetic dog. He has been running and playing every day with two different, very active dogs. This is total joy for him. He loves dogs!
2) But he also wants to be with his person or people, a true Velcro pup. He wants lots of attention and entertainment. And he is very affectionate. He loves to sleep on the bed with one of his fosters and is a really good snuggler.
3) JOJO is very smart and such an eager and quick learner. He learned “stay” and recall to his new name within just a few days. He is very responsive to his fosters.
4) He doesn’t need to be crated when you are gone as long as it isn’t for more than 4 or 5 hours. He won’t destroy things in the house.
Hi, y’all. I’m CLARENCE (kind of a crazy dog name, huh?) and I’m from Mobile, AL. I’m a Pointer mix and I’m 2 years and 2 months old. I’m coming into the rescue on Wednesday, April 6 on a very special transport. The man who has been keeping an eye on me in the shelter is driving us all the way, just the two of us, to the rescue because he knows Mile High GSP Recue will find just the right home for me. I am probably a GSP mix but I’m very GSP-ish. Just look at my ears, my svelte, trim body and my long legs. Of course, my tail is natural.
When I came into the Mobile rescue I was all checked out by their vets and it turns out that they were pretty puzzled about what was going on with me. I had some really crazy blood work results and I also had had a broken leg which is completely healed now. The rescue has kept a close eye on me and finally they have results from recent bloodwork that looks pretty normal.
The shelter in Mobile says I am a special dog – very sweet, but also high energy. I’m potty trained and crate trained, and the shelter says I have lots of potential. I love toys so whoever invented the rope toys is a genius! And I am highly food motivated. Just love my snack. . . or anything you leave out on the counter. I walk really well on a leash, but the shelter is located next to a busy highway and I’m a little skittish around big vehicles. Other than that, though, I love to go on walks and explore and would benefit from a really active home. I would also like a buddy to play with because I have lots of energy. They evaluated me with another young male dog and we played and played and rough-housed. We had a blast!
So because this feels like a dating profile, I’ve been told to list my best qualities. Let’s see . . .
I am crate trained, know how to sit (but sometimes forget if I’m being honest), and walk really well on a leash. I know exactly where to do my business, too – in the grass. I also get along great with other dogs, loving to play and run around with them. I’ve been told by a lot of people that I’m quite handsome, too. And I love being with my person. I have been known to follow him or her into the bathroom and just about anywhere he or she goes. I would really love to have a person or family who will spend lot of time with me and make me the center of their world.
If you would like to make me part of your world, please text your name and number to the rescue to let them know you would love to foster or adopt me. 720-373-7274
