Cocoa – Adoption Pending

Hi, my name is Cocoa, and I am a fun, loving male 2-year-old GSP!  I am enjoying living in Colorado but I am originally from Texas! Here are some fun facts for my new family to know about me:

1. I love being outside and especially at dog parks.
2. I am crate trained and sleep in a crate at night.
3. I am very food motivated.
4. I love being with other dogs.

I am learning all the fun things it means to have a family. I’m fine with other people but it takes me a little time to warm up to people I don’t know but I love my foster mom and dad. I love spending time with other dogs soI would enjoy having another dog to play with and a family that would include me in all of their adventures, trips to the dog park and opportunities to run and explore. You can catch me smiling when I am at the dog park and you can tell how happy being outside makes me. I would love to go hiking and running this summer. I really do enjoy going on car rides and enjoy taking a ride with my foster family.

I am a full-body leaner and love to get my body and neck scratched. I check in with my foster family to help me feel confident in new experiences as I go explore new stores and places, but I am a quick learner. I am very food motivated and eager to please. I know “sit” and I am working on “place” and recall. I do understand “here” for recall but will need to do more training with my new family.

I spend the night in my crate, and it is my safe space. I am learning the joys of cuddling with my foster family and hanging out on dog beds and the couches. I love to play tug of war with my GSP foster sister as well as keep away. I am working on fetch but get distracted and don’t return the ball most of the time but love to chase toys that are thrown.

I have a high prey drive and would not do well with a cat or small animal in the house since all I want to do is chase them.
