Daisy – ADOPTED
because she loves to be with her people, to be right there with them wherever they go. Don't
let her size fool you. Just because she is petite doesn’t mean she isn’t rough and tumble. Daisy
loves to run and play with the big dogs as well as smaller dogs
She has enough energy to play all day long or she just loves to snuggle with her humans.
Daisy does need some additional training like walking on leash and not jumping up on people.
In addition, she could probably be a good little hunter since she loves to chase birds. She would
need training for hunting as well.
Daisy is such a delightful little girl who has such a great personality. She loves her people and
just needs someone to love her right back!
Most important things for Daisy’s new family to know:
1) Daisy is great with all people although she hasn’t been with children.
2) Daisy would love to have someone around most of the day.
3) Daisy needs to be an only dog or in a family with one other dog who is about her size (no small dogs).
4) She is affectionate and cuddly.
5) She will need plenty of daily exercise.
6) Daisy will continue to need obedience training and socializing.
DAISY is an approximately 2-year-old GSP who appears to be purebred. She is coming to us from Mexico in mid-February where she was taken from a neglect situation. Daisy’s people tied her to a tree in the middle of rainy season with 6 pups to care for. Two of the pups drowned because she couldn’t get to them and the rest have been adopted. Daisy had a kidney infection and was super skinny when she was picked up by the rescue in Mexico where she has been living with a wonderful foster mom and dad. She has healed from all her parasites, fleas and infections. She is great with all people but extremely under-socialized with dogs. She has been fine with larger dominant dogs but did attack a very yappy dog much smaller than she is. Daisy seems to have a high prey drive which is not unusual since she is a Pointer. She loves retrieving a ball in a fenced yard or leash waking but she pulls on her harness when walking. That is probably partly due to the fosters’ inability to exercise her enough. As a GSP, she will need to be exercised off leash every day on trails, in fields or in woods.
Daisy is goofy and curious about everything – a very friendly girl. She loves being with her people and is content to sit on a dog bed next to her foster mom as she works on her computer. She is affectionate and loyal and loves just curling up beside one of the fosters on the couch and relaxing. She does not bark much and is completely house trained using a dog door. She has a gentle mouth taking treats and is just learning to play and sit like a normal dog. Daisy needs basic obedience training and socialization but she is a lovely dog who has yet to damage anything in the house or garden. year. She will need to be fostered or adopted as an only dog or with 1 other dog approximately her size or bigger.
