Meet Daisy! She came to us last month after wandering the rural roads in Kansas without any ID or chip. The best estimate is she is now just one year old, and yes, she is still a puppy! She is incredibly bright, energetic, and very social. As fosters, we soon realized she came to us with quite a bit of training – she is housebroken and knows her commands for sit, down, and wait. She certainly is all GSP as she understands “leave it” but chooses the times she wishes to do so. Daisy goes straight into her kennel, e-collar ready, recall responsive. She loves to please and plays well with other dogs and even our kitty. Daisy is incredibly endearing, loving, and a very sweet young lady.
She runs at Chatfield and gets along very well with other dogs. She loves to chase (or be chased!) by the other pups. Her recall is pretty good, and she walks well, half hitched, with her leash. She didn’t swim for us but would go in and get wet, and she might chase a tennis ball once in a while, bring, drop it at your feet. She is prey-driven but plays with our kitty mostly. A good chase every now and again is also worth the big No.
She counter-surfs and is always ravenous. The vet for the rescue has her on a special prescription diet that has been effective. Intriguingly, she doesn’t have too much separation anxiety. We kennel her if we have to go out. She sleeps on the bed with us and really loves to cuddle. She loves toys and finally knows what to do with a pig ear! We know she could be a great hunting buddy if she had the right person to train her. Loud sounds do not seem to faze her, and she has shown signs of a beautiful point and how to flush birds instinctively. Her best home will be with an early riser, most likely with another dog to play with for hours. A large yard is essential, and she needs to run freely and supervised in an open space a few times a week to give her joy. She is a spirited little one.
Bottom line: she is a 2023 model with responsive. Sport-like tendencies, low miles, fast acceleration, intuitive handling, and, most of all, she is ergonomically designed for you in your lap or bed! She is an amazing pup!
