Deuce – ADOPTED!

Hi! I’m Deuce, an 8-year-old purebred GSP. I am very well mannered and I know most of the basic commands: sit, down, stay, wait, and leave it. I am also completely house trained. I walk fairly well on a leash but sometimes I like to do my own thing so I have to be reminded to keep going. I would be a great walking buddy for someone who likes to go on walks.

My foster parents do not have children but think I would be ok with older children because of my very sweet and playful temperament. Even though I am 8 years old I am still full of energy and I LOVE to play with other dogs, especially one of my foster brothers. I am really hoping that my forever family will have other dogs for me to play with, too. My foster parents also have a cat and I have done really well around her. Sometimes I wish she would play with me but she’s kinda boring and just sits on the couch.

Since I am such a good boy, I have complete roam of the house when my foster parents are gone during the day (4-5 hours per day). I have never been in a crate in their home. They also have a dog door and I can go outside and sit in the sun any time I want! And I find places in the house where the sun is streaming in and love soaking up the sun inside, too. At night, I sleep up on the bed with my foster parents or down on the dog beds with the other dogs. Due to my past experiences I would really prefer a home where I do not have to be crated.

I do really well off leash and just like to roam around my foster parents property when we are all outside. I have pretty good recall even when rabbits are around. They are so tempting but I’m a good boy and know I shouldn’t chase them.

I sure like being with my foster family because they have other dogs and they treat me so well and because I love having the freedom during the day that we all have. I’m a pretty easy dog to have around and really like to be around people. I heard one of my foster parents’ friends say that I’m just such a lovable boy and she always just wants to hug me. Even though I really like my foster home, I’m so excited to find my forever family!!
