Earl – ADOPTED!
You can call me EARL That’s what everyone has been calling me since I was picked up as a stray in Colorado. I’m getting used to it but I would learn to respond to almost any name because I’m pretty smart and learn things really fast as long as people know how to teach me. I know “sit”, “stay”, “come”, “off”, “no” but sometimes I have to be told more than once. I really like people as long as they are nice to me and I’m so anxious to be somebody’s best friend. My foster dad has been spoiling me taking me for long walks because he doesn’t have a fenced yard. I don’t mind being on a leash as long as I can stop to check a scent of another dog that has been in the same area. My foster thinks I’m someone special and he especially appreciates that I know to only do my business outside. He also takes me in his van to his construction projects and to his friends’ homes. I like being in the van. I’ve been to some homes with big grassy shaded fenced yards. WOW! One of them even had four dogs in the same yard and I made friends with all of them. I like other dogs as long as they are friendly. I like playing fetch with a tennis ball but you have to be really fast if there are other dogs there that like to play the same game. Oh, and I like cooling off in a stream or a lake . A little back yard pool might be a good substitute for me, though. I recently had surgery and they said I won’t be making any more litters. I never considered myself a litterer!?
I’m very happy with my foster dad but he thinks I should have a home where I can spend lots of time outdoors in a safe, yard whenever I want. If you have a home with a nice sized fenced yard with trees (and squirrels!) that you are willing to share with me and if I wouldn’t have to be alone a lot of the time then I would like to meet you. But if you have to be gone much of the day, I’d really like to have a playful canine buddy. I don’t have to be your only best friend as long as you treat me as if I am.
