Finn – ADOPTED!
These are things I need to have in my new home:
1) Lots of exercise . . . lots!
2) Some hunting time
3) Time for affection and cuddling
I am FINN! I’m a purebred GSP, 3 years old, and I love to run and hunt. Unfortunately, my dad has to move to New York City at the beginning of the summer
so he wants me to have a new home. He knows that a big city is certainly not the place for a German Shorthaired Pointer. I do love my dad but he really is right. I need a home where I can run and run and, hopefully, hunt some days, too. I am a very well trained boy, knowing all obedience commands. My dad says I am extremely obedient and just don’t get into trouble. I’m crate trained and never have accidents in the house (as long as someone notices that I’m whining at the door!). In addition, I have had hunt training with a training collar and love spending a day in the field with birds. Once I’m in the field I am on duty and 100% focused. I like other dogs and get along with them. If an aggressive dog is around or if a conflict is brewing, I just avoid it. Dad says that I’m “extremely unproblematic.” Honestly, I’d rather just run or hunt. And cats? I lived with 2 cats and was fine with them. Mostly, I just wanted to play with them. I love being with people, especially my dad. He says I’m a real people pleaser! And I’m good with kids, too.
I’m actually a pretty independent boy, neither alpha nor submissive. One of the most important things for me is to have time every day for vigorous exercise . . . running. Running in fields, on trails, and especially running when I’m hunting. I need a lot of daily exercise so I get 2 hours of running at a 40 acre dog park every day. Taking walks around the neighborhood is just not going to do much for me. But I love being inside, too, and dad says I am an amazing house dog where I can getting lots of cuddling and snuggles. I’m very affectionate and one of the best parts of my day is sleeping in bed with my dad.
I’m a very gentle and happy pup who loves adventures. Dad says that everyone who meets me calls me the “Robot dog” because I’m so well behaved. But he also says I am goofy, outgoing and majestic. He could be a little biased!
