Griffin – ADOPTED!
Hi! I’m Griffin, a purebred GSP. The rescue thinks I am between 2 and 3 years old. I was picked up as a stray in Kansas and the rescue brought me here to Colorado. I am a very sweet and well-behaved boy knowing most of the basic commands: sit, down, stay, shake, leave it, and heel. Like any younger GSP I can be somewhat stubborn but I really do know my commands. I just need a firm leader who is willing to continue to reinforce what I know. I have an amazing temperament when it comes to people. I am so kind and gentle and I’m an affectionate boy. My foster parents do not have children but they think I would probably do great with older kids who understand the importance of respecting animals.
My foster parents, however, think I may have a difficult time with other dogs because I am quite dominant and show aggression with other dogs. Due to this I am looking for a forever home where I will be the only dog. My foster parents are working really hard with me and we have consulted a dog behaviorist and it’s possible with more training and a strong human leader, I can possibly get to a point where I would not have issues going on walks or hikes where I may encounter another dog. I am also easily spooked by loud noises so I would probably not make a good hunting dog.
I am doing great training off leash and I have a good recall. I love to play fetch outside and I quickly learned to bring the ball back so you can throw it again (and again and again… I can go all day!). I walk pretty well on a leash but, again, I would love a strong leader to continue to reinforce good manners. If you would like to meet me, please reach out to Mile High GSP ASAP! I’m so excited to find my forever family so I can be loved and give all my love to them!!!
