Holly – ADOPTED!

Hi, everyone . . . my name is HOLLY and I’m 2-3 years old! As you can see, I am a Pointer mix but the rescue isn’t sure what I am mixed with. Hopefully, that won’t matter to you because I sure act like a Pointer in the most typical GSP ways: I am very energetic; I love to run and run and chase rabbits and ducks; my housemate (another Pointer mix who is my age but who doesn’t have nearly the energy I have)) and I spend lots of time playing chase and wrestling; and I am a big snuggle bug. I love being with people and I am especially gentle with children. Although I am crate trained, if my family is gone, I am fine in the house, unrestricted. I do enjoy other dogs if I am properly introduced to them but on a walk, I’m not great with another dog if he or she is on a leash or is aggressive. But in my new family, I sure do want a dog buddy to play and run around with. I’ve never been around a cat so I don’t know how I would respond to one of those. My mom says I am a smart dog and that I probably know some commands but she admits they don’t have experience with strong-willed dogs and just don’t have the leadership skills to train me. What I need is a family who knows the energy of Pointers who can be head-strong without the right pack leadership. Even though my mom says they “love me so much,” they can’t give me the exercise or mental stimulation that we active Pointers need.
