Ivy – ADOPTED!
The most important things my new family needs to know about me:
1) I need to have lots of exercise . . . LOTS!
2) I’m good with children and would especially like another young,
playful dog in my new family.
3) I’m adventurous but also affectionate and cuddly.
4) I’m very responsive to commands, especially for a puppy.
If you would like to know more about me, please continue reading.
I’m IVY, a 9-month-old purebred GSP. I bet you could tell that from my pictures., right? Unfortunately, my family has been one of the unlucky ones who have felt the challenging effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. They moved to Colorado from Texas, planning to start a brand new business, much like their very successful business in TX. But shortly after they moved here, Covid struck and everything topped or closed down. They needed to move into a house with a small yard and because of Covid they now have jobs that don’t allow them to give me time, attention and the exercise that I need.
Like so many GSPs, I am full of energy, especially because I am still a puppy. I sleep in my crate at night but during the day I’m out in the house with everyone else. Both my mom and dad work from home so I like having someone at home much of the day. I’m house-trained so I never have accidents indoors. If I need to go outside I just sit by the door and whine a little to make sure someone hears me and lets me out. I’m also trained to the basic commands of sit, stay, come, down, and leave it. I love my family a lot; in fact, I really like all people. I live with two children and love romping with them. I probably play a little rough with them sometimes, but they will sure let me know when I do! I seem to like all people, not just my own family. And I like being with other dogs. I live with a big, older Ridgeback/Lab mix and I love to wrestle and play with him and sometimes annoy him! Yup, I’m a puppy! I am good with other dogs, too, although at the very beginning of meeting a new one I’m sometimes timid, submissive . . . until I warm up to him or her but I would love to have a young, playful dog in my new family. I can’t really tell you about cats because I’ve never met one!
I’m not different from most GSPs because my favorite activity is running . . . and running and running. But I also love to chew on my Nyla and rope toys and chase after a ball or Frisbee. Although I am sometimes a little anxious when my mom and dad leave me alone – I whine a little – and I do like to dig and bark sometimes, I am mostly a really good girl. I’m very playful (of course . . . I’m only nine months old!) and a very friendly pup. I love adventure but I also am affectionate and love cuddling. And I’m told that I’m very attentive, tolerant, and follow commands well for my age. My dad and mom care about me so much, saying that I love to “wake up ready for fun every day” so they feel that having another young dog to play with would make me a really happy little girl.
