Hi, I’m JETT, a seven-year-old purebred GSP. I am looking for a new family because my mom couldn’t take care of me anymore. Right now, I have a foster mom and dad who think I am a GREAT boy (I AM). I was not neutered when they got me, and I was marking everywhere. On July 19th they took me to the vet, and I was neutered. My marking has decreased significantly, marking only a couple of times since then.
I have tons and tons of energy but if you sit down, I’m right there for lovies. I love people – babies, kids, elder people – and spend much of my day following my foster mom from room to room and hanging out with her. I am very smart! I know a few commands and I’m really good at sit and stay. I am pretty good on a leash. I do pull but dad tells mom it’s because I am a hunting dog and am always hunting so she thinks I can be trained to not pull. I’m fine with other dogs and like hanging out with my canine foster sisters. My foster mom and dad live on a big property, so we go hunting for rabbits a lot. I am very prey driven, and even though mom and dad think I could be taught to hunt, my previous owner said I’m gun shy,
I am good when left alone. Sometimes I howl, but usually stop in a few minutes. I have jumped the four-foot fence to get to the front yard but have either stayed around or jumped back into the fenced area. A six-foot fence would be best for me if you are not home all the time. I ride well in the car and love to go on trips. I had my first vacation on a recent weekend and, if I can say so myself, I did GREAT (mom and dad say so too)!!
My previous owner agrees with my foster mom and dad that I love to run and she let the rescue know that I have had lots of fun swimming, too. I am a very friendly and happy boy and I love a good adventure. But my softer side shows that I want to be loved and am a really good cuddler. If you need a best buddy to hang with, want a wonderful dog to continue training, and would be happy having a great snuggler in your family, I am that boy. If you meet me, I know you will fall in love and want to give me a forever home.
