JJ – Adoption Pending
Most important things for my new family to know about me:
1) I am well trained and a well-behaved boy.
2) Spending time with my person is so important to me.
3) I am a very loving boy.
4) I need consistent off leash exercise.
5) I LOVE playing with other dogs.

Hi, everyone! My name is JJ (Jack Jr.) and I’m a 5-year-old, purebred GSP. Unfortunately, I’m needing a new home because my mom just got a double knee replacement diagnosis and I am a bit much for her to handle right now and certainly would be during her rehab so now I am needing a new owner/family.
I just love life, and especially love running, playing, scouting out squirrels and bunnies. (Boy, do I want to catch that bunny in my backyard so I can see what it is all about.) I also love hiking, biking, running, ball chasing or just sleeping on your lap. In fact, I can be a bit of is a couch potato., loving my spot on the couch and when my GSP sister takes my spot I kind ofwhine. That’s when I resort to going into my kennel. But I do have my own chaise lounge in the back yard where I perch to keep an eye out for squirrels or bunnies.
I have been really well trained. I just forget sometimes because I am so curious about everything so I need to be reminded. I know all the typical commands in addition to “halt,” when I am on or off leash. I am still in training with jumping up on people. Many times, when we have visitors, my mom puts the E–collar onme and she just holds the remote in front of me. Then I’m a very good boy. And, of course, I am house-trained and stand at the door so she can let me out when I need to. I am also crate trained. I am scent trained, too, but if I get on a bunny scent, I will come back when you call me. A fox, maybe not so much.
I love all dogs, love them! I am always greeting pups at the park asking, “Do you want to play and run with me?” Some say “Yes” and we are off to the races. Some say “NO” so I go on to the next adventure. I am pretty submissive so if I encounter an aggressive dog, I just prefer not to engage. But I am not good with cats unless they love to be chased and probably get caught!
I am patient while waiting for you to get ready in the morning. And on cooler mornings I like to be covered with a blanket. I love snuggling when you watch TV at night or movies. Please share a little popcorn with me too. But never feed me from the table!! I love having my ears scratched. I love to play with you, too – tugging with a toy, chasing and chewing a ball and even playing Hide and Seek.
If you scratch my ears, take me out consistently for runs, and throw the ball I will be your BFF! If my new family doesn’t have another friendly dog, it would be OK. What I prefer most is the attention and love from my mom (or dad).
