Julep – ADOPTED!
I’m Julep but my mom calls me Jules most of the time. Even though I’m 9-years-old, I am an active purebred GSP. My mom’s work hours have changed so she is very busy with her job and isn’t at home enough to spend a lot of time with me. I guess her roommates don’t like dogs the way she does so she thinks it would be best for me to be with a new family. I’m a gentle girl who loves being with people, even children, and my mom wants to make sure that I find a new home with someone who will spend lots of time with me and care about me.
I know all of my basic commands and, of course, I’m housebroken. I’m not crate trained but since most of the time I’m just fine in the house, I really don’t need to be in a crate. So at night, I sleep in my mom’s bed or on a dog bed next to her. I like other dogs but I would probably be considered an alpha girl. I’m not aggressive but I’m not really submissive, either. I’m just kind of even-tempered. Although I like spending time in the house, (not in a crate!), what I really love is to go on hikes and runs with my mom. And I like camping, too! I do pull on a leash so it would be a really good idea for my new person to train me on an e-collar. That way I could do lots and lots of running off leash and not get too far away from my mom or dad. Then I would feel safe and my person wouldn’t worry about me. Although I’m OK not being in a crate when my mom or someone else isn’t at home, like most GSPs I do get anxious if I’m left all alone for more than 2 or 3 hours. I get lonely and anxious then so it’s important to make sure the trash is out of my reach if I’m home alone!
When my mom talks about me she says I’m a very happy girl who loves to play and have adventures. I especially love being with people and am very affectionate, especially with my very own person. I like being with other dogs, too. I hope my new home will have people who want to have their dog spend a lot of time with them, who will help train me on an e-collar and who will be as loving to me as I will be with them.
