Lady – ADOPTED!
Hi! My name is Lady (or “Ladybug” as my foster mom calls me!) and I am a 7-year-old purebred GSP. My foster parents say am probably the sweetest, most mellow GSP they have seen so far. I am probably a little more on the mellow side due to fact that when I was younger I was hit by a car and my back leg isn’t quite 100%. Don’t let that fool you, though. I can still run, play, and I get around just fine. I like to explore outside, mostly off leash, because I am so well behaved. My favorite place in the house is up on the couch snuggled up with my foster parents. I am fully potty trained and have not had a single accident with my foster parents. They have a dog door and I love being able to go back and forth when I need too.
My foster parents have 3 other dogs and I get along with them pretty well. I’m a little particular and maybe even a little selfish when it comes to food or toys; if I looked at it or even thought about it, it’s mine. I’m sometimes a little overwhelmed so a house with dogs around my age would be great. A really young or very energetic dog would not be ideal for me since I don’t play really crazy. In the right house I may also be ok as an only dog. I have also been around my foster parents’ cat and I’m great with her, too. I have not been around children but I would probably be ok with children old enough to understand to be careful with me. During the day I am only alone about 5 hours when my foster parents go to work. I have full roam of the house when they are gone and I have not gotten into any trouble! Due to my previous experience in a shelter I do not do well in kennels and will need a home that does not have to kennel me when they are gone. At night I mostly like to sleep in my dog bed at the foot of my foster parents bed but sometimes I’ll let them know I want to snuggle with them and they lift me up into the bed. I am still going through a little bit of rehab on my back leg and would need a family who is willing to help me continue to work on strengthening my leg. It’s not difficult and can be done at home, I just can’t do it on my own.
