Leia – ADOPTED!
Woof – My name is Leia (yes, from Star Wars).
I am a very sweet, pretty, playful girl with a soft, shiny, jet black coat, and a white chest. I weigh about 45 pounds, and I still have a tail !
Because I was rescued from a hoarding situation with, oh, so many dogs, I can be a bit timid when I first meet someone. But once I get to know you, I am a real lover. I have come a LONG way, and have learned how to be a dog, and to trust other people. I love my foster mom, and have learned to have complete trust with her, and I am working really hard with trusting others as well.
Right now, I get to live with 2 other GSP’s, and also an Alaskan Husky, and we all get along fabulously. I love to play with all of them, and cuddle with ALL of the GSP’s. We make some pretty darn good dog piles. I really like having another dog, or dogs around since they give me confidence and have taught me so much on how to be a dog, and, that it is OK to play and romp and be happy! I am really glad to have the others around since I might get lonely if I was all by myself.
I have learned to love, love, LOVE squeaky toys — and all other toys for that matter. Most of the toys are “de-stuffed” now, but that does not stop me from carrying them around and sleeping with them. I did not even know what toys were before, but I have certainly been making up for that now!
Hanging out on the couch and cuddling with my foster mom and brothers and sisters is one of my favorite things to do. We can all fit on the couch, thank goodness, and is the only way we would have it! There are also lots of dog beds all throughout the house if we want to sleep on any of them.
We all get to go on lots of hikes and runs too, and boy, do I love to run. I am trained on an e-collar so I get to really run all out and explore!. And I am really good at coming back to my foster mom when she calls for me.
My new favorite activity is skijoring with my foster mom. We both have a blast doing this. I get to run, the faster the better, and she gets to ski! It is soo much fun!
When my foster mom is at work, my foster brothers and sisters and I have full run of the house, with access to a back yard through a doggie door, and I do great ! I also have been crate trained, but I do not really ever need to go in to the crate. I would be ok with it if I had to though.
I would love to find a wonderful home with someone who will love me, and cuddle with me, and someone that will continue to give me confidence and provide that wonderful feeling of security. And, I really do need a home with another dog or dogs so I have a buddy.
would love to find a home with someone who I can continue to trust, and someone that will continue to give me confidence and provide a feeling of security. And of course, I want a home with another dog or dogs so I have a buddy to hang out with. That would be ideal.
