Lottie – Adopted

Hello! My name is Lottie or “Lot” for short!
I am a purebred GSWP, who is 6-ish years young and loves to run, play, and spend time with my humans. I was rescued four-ish years ago when I was brought home from college and my current mom and dad “inherited” me to save my life. I have been a single dog for almost five years. I do occasionally share my home when we are watching other family members’ dogs but please don’t ask me to share my babies or eat near other dogs as I will growl and remind them I am the alpha dog. I would love to be the star of your home, as I will find my person and I become attached like a “velcro” dog. My gotcha birthday is December 21.
I am spayed, micro-chipped, and am up to date on all of my vaccinations and preventatives. I am a strong, healthy, sweet 50-ish pound girl who loves walks with a pinch collar because I can get distracted by squirrels or bunnies, but I settle into long walks. I look forward to my walks and retrieving balls in the backyard. I love to be in the yard with my humans and bask in the sun. I have brought rabbit trophies to my humans and I love to patrol my yard hunting for critters. I rarely bark, but if I am inside I will let you know if someone is at the door, I am a good watch dog.
I know many commands like sit, stay, potty, outside, and off, and I am food motivated! I love people and I attach quite easily, never showing any aggression or barking when someone comes to the house. On weekdays, I freely roam the house with some doors closed so I do not get into anything that is off limits. I am “potty” trained to be alone for up to 8 hours and rarely have an accident inside. If I get excited or anxious I carry my babies around in my mouth and bring them to my mom and dad. I am allowed on the sofa and I usually take a nap or lounge with my humans at the end of the day. I like to be inside when it rains, snows, or on the 4th of July when fireworks go off and I will cuddle affectionately.
It is important to know that I am an alpha girl and that I was rescued from a situation where I was locked in a kennel with a male dog. I never had any puppies or would let the male near me but I am touchy at night around my bum and if bumped I might give a little warning and then reposition myself. Being in an inside kennel made me very nervous. I chewed on the wire, and paced when I was left inside when I came to my new home. So my mom and dad realized this and trained me to live inside, where I am happy and feel safe. My humans also noticed that I do not like bikes, skateboards, or scooters when on walks and I might bark or get anxious. I have been boarded but it made me nervous so family members and neighbors stay with or look in on me when my mom and dad are out of town. I will love you, give kisses, and be a wonderful dog to the right person, couple, or family with older children. I love to go to Home Depot and grill outside with my dad, but I snuggle and get fed “supper” and “treats” by my mom, who calls me “beautiful Lottie”. Please also know that I will “dart” outside of a cracked open door or open gate so keep an eye on me!
I have been on many trips and I love riding in the car. I am always on a long leash or short leash on walks or outside. If I see a rabbit or squirrel, I will go after it and hunt the scent as I was bred to do! I am very smart and I would adapt to your loving home. Currently I have been introduced to a clicker so I would not be so excited when expecting mothers came into the house, I have

learned to grab a toy instead to calm me down. I am gentle and patient but I require much more attention than my current mom and dad can provide for me so that I am happy and healthy.
I am looking for my next adventure, as my current humans are becoming new grandparents. I have spent time with a toddler, but there will be three new babies in and out of their house. So, they have decided to give me the opportunity to share all my love with someone, a couple, or family with older children who can truly experience my full potential, affection, and adventurous spirit for nature and lounging as the perfect companion. I am a true-blue devoted sweet girl and would be the best companion for a loving, energetic dog lover!
