Luna
I’m a 5-year-old female, purebred GSP. I am currently in a home that I have known since I was a puppy because my recent owner took me in for pet sitting. Several months ago, my original ownersneeded to move to a big city and their new home would be an apartment. Clearly, they were no longer able to keep me and take me with them so my pet sitter adopted me. Unfortunately, though I was fine with her other dogs when she had me for doggy daycare, now that I am a permanent part of the pack, one of her females and I aren’t getting along. My current mom of 8 months thinks I would be much happier in a home as an only dog or maybe with a submissive male dog. Because I am an alpha dog, I wouldn’t be good in a family that has another female or a dominant male dog. I’m kind of protective of my people so that’s also why I might be really good as a family’s only dog. But I’m also very affectionate and I love my people and their attention so being an only dog would give me all the attention I would like!
I’m well-trained knowing “ sit,” “come,” “stay,” and “off” so I can be in the house without doing any damage. I am housebroken so if I need to go outside to potty, I just stand by the door and whine or paw to get someone’s attention. During the day when my mom and dad are gone, usually for no more than 2 hours, I stay in my crate. And I am leash trained, too. If they are around, I am free in the house. At night I sleep on a dog bed in my mom’s and dad’s bedroom.
I absolutely love to play and to fetch but I really love adventures, too, like hiking, swimming and running on open land. One of my very favorite things to do is run along with my dad or mom when they go on a bike ride. And I like long, leisurely leash walks in the evening, too.
So, my best home would probably be a family that is very familiar with GSPs and who will want to spend lots of time with me. I would love being an only dog although a submissive male might be OK too. I am such a loyal and sweet girl when I can be with my mom or dad. I would be so happy to have lots of outdoor time running, biking, hiking, even swimming and would love someone who will play fetch with me.
