Oliver – Adopted

Hi, I’m Oliver an 11–month–old pure breed GSPlooking for a loving family.

These are important things that my new family needs to know about me:

1) I am a better-behaved boy when I get to run out my energy at a dog park or open fields.
2) Mornings are my favorite times and calm me down for the rest of the day.
3) I’ve never had a back yard but would love one to get my smells in. I grew up in an apartment building with tons of dogs so am very social and am house broken and have no accidents now.  
4) I absolutely love all other dogs and would love to have one in my new life to play with and tire out.  
5) I obey obedience commands, sit, stay, and come. I am also whistle–trained. I have no

experience with an e-collar yet.  

6)    I’m very affectionate, love to snuggle on the couch when invited up.

7)    I’m a puppy so my new family needs to continue training me.

The reason I am available for a new family is my dad wasn’t planning on raising me alone but due to a break up now has 100% responsibility of me. Between his work schedule and my need for constant exercise the single parent life is not working out. He was also planning on purchasing a home with a backyard in early 2023 but this has been pushed back and I can’t stay living in an apartment.    

I am altogether a very docile dog who sleeps a large portion of the day after getting back from dog parks or hikes. I stay close to my owner at all times but will occasionally bolt when I find a scent in the wild, I’ve always come back, though, and due to my whistle training know where to come back to. I pulled a lot at first on my 16 ft extendo leash but since my dad bought me an easy walker that pulls me sideways if I pull, I am much easier to walk, although I prefer off–leash. I play ball and fetch, and love competing with other dogs in these games.  

I’m past my chewing stage and leave my dad’sthings alone. I am allowed to be left out in the apartment for 2-3 hours at a time to wait my dad’s return.  I usually sleep when he’s gone.
