Phoebe – ADOPTED!
Most important things to know about me:
1) I have TONS of energy and need lots of exercise.
2) Playful is my middle name.
3) I’m great with children and other dogs.
4) I need to be trained on an e-collar so I can learn recall and run off-leash.
5) I R-E-A-L-L-Y would like another playful dog in my new family.
I’m Phoebe, a 2-1/2 -year-old GSP. Although I look exactly like a GSP, it’s possible that I may have a very little bit of another breed in my make-up . . . maybe a lab? It’s awfully difficult to know because I really act and look just a GSP. I know a few commands – sit, stay, and sometimes down – and I am housebroken. I’m also crate-trained. Some dogs are only a dog’s dog or really prefer people, but I like all dogs and all people. I do need some training about greeting a new person because I’m pretty excitable when someone I don’t know comes to our house. And I’m really good with toddlers as well as older kids. I don’t know about cats, though. My current family doesn’t have a cat so how I would be with one of those is a mystery. But keep in mind, I’m a pointer and most of us have a very strong prey drive.
Playing with other dogs is my favorite activity. I love running around the yard, chasing and being chased. And I love chasing and catching a ball, too. I sure need that kind of exercise and more because I have so much energy. But that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who knows GSPs because, after all, I’m still pretty much a puppy at only 2-1/2 yrs old. Since I have so much energy it would be good for me to get off-leash exercise almost every day. I won’t be happy just running after a ball in a backyard.
When my mom and dad are gone, I usually need to be in my crate because I have gotten into the trash. I don’t like that crate much, though. But if my new family can secure the trash and if they have a doggie door (and another dog!), maybe I wouldn’t have to be crated. At least I don’t need to sleep in the crate at bedtime. Then I get to be in my mom and dad’s bedroom.
I do love my current family but I am just too energetic and need more exercise and more room than they are able to provide for me. They love me, too, and tell people what a happy and friendly pup and I am. And although I love playing with other dogs, I’m very affectionate and love to love on my family.
