Rado – Adopted
Important things to know about me:
someone’s “hunting dog.” I want to be a family member.
Please keep reading for more details about me:
My name is Rado (as in ColoRADO) and, as you can see, I’m a purebred German Wirehaired Pointer and I’m 6 years old. My dad’s life has recently changed and so has our home. We used to live on 5 acres but now we have a much smaller house and a small yard. But most important, my dad is working much longer hours so I spend a lot of time alone in a create, both during the day and at night. And, unfortunately, he is so busy with work and raising his daughter that he realizes he just doesn’t have the time he used to have to spend with me. I really need a person or family who would be happy to have me in their lives but, most important, who have lots of time to be with me. I have spent a lot of time by myself over the past several months and am not happy being alone so I really do need a person who is around for me
I am well trained to basic commands but also have been hunt-trained. My dad has been so busy with his work and parenting that he hasn’t had much time to take me hunting for a while. I think I would really enjoy that again but especially because I would be with my favorite person.
Although I’m a bit timid, I really enjoy all people including kids and even toddlers. Cats don’t want me around because I chase them, but I love to play so I’m good with dogs and seem to be better with males than females.
As a pointer I, of course, love being outside getting lots of exercise. A good adventure is so much fun, especially if I’m with my dad. But I’m great indoors, as well. I am really happy when people come to visit because I love having people around. And I am quite the snuggler. But when I’m resting by myself, I might growl if someone tries to move me.
I just really need to have a family who will take me on adventures, maybe even to do some hunting, and who will want to be with me a lot and, hopefully, let me snuggle with them.
