Ranger – Adopted
Ranger is a male GSP, approximately 6 years old. He was rescued in the desert near Kanab, Utah. He is a big boy, 70lbs and very athletic. He is full of energy and very smart. He knows the commands: sit, down, off, leave it, back up, shake, high five, stay, come, outside, kennel, kiss, jump up, roll over, and many more. He is house broken and crate trained. He is neutered, currently on flea/tick and heart worm preventative, and is up to date on vaccinations. He is not microchipped but has a fi (training/tracking) collar, which has been useful in tracking his location and counting his daily steps.Ranger does need work on recall and walking on a leash. Ranger will bolt if any door is left open, though, so he needs a large, secured area (more than 5ft high fence) to run and play in.
Ranger loves playing fetch and watching/chasing birds. He plays well with other dogs but loves hanging out with humans – a total velcro dog.
At the end of the day this guy loves cuddles from his humans. Bedtime and naps are best spent burrowing under soft blankets, preferably in bed, but he also likes his crate.
His height and great sense of smell make him an excellent counter surfer if no one is watching so he probably shouldn’t be allowed too close to the kitchen!
We don’t know about his abilities as a hunting dog, but he has amazing focus and drive. Ranger would make a great companion for anyone who can give him lots of attention and exercise.
