Reba – ADOPTED!
Here are some important things my new family needs to know about me:
I want to play and run almost more than anything . . . except to cuddle!
I really need to have at least one other young, energetic, playful pup in my new family.
I need to have a big yard with a secure 6 ft. privacy fence or wear an underground fence collar.
I want to be able to cuddle on the couch with my family and even sleep in bed like I do with my foster mom.
I need to be further trained on the recall command and on an e-collar (training collar).

Hi – My name is Reba and I am a 2-year-old GSP. I am a very sweet girl, and my soft brown eyes say it all. I am a GSP after all! I look, I act, and I play just like a full blown GSP, but my foster mom thinks I may have some other breed in me … but only because my hair is a little longer, and I got to keep my tail!
Before I came to live with my foster mom, I was living in a very small condo. I did not really like that since I need lots of space to exercise. I just wanted to get outside to play and run. I actually escaped a few times from that home, and the last time I did, I wasn’t looking, and got hit by a car and broke a little bone in my foot. I am fine, but I have to wear a stupid cast for a while so it can heal.
I love, love, LOVE to play – a lot — and run and run and run. Right now I live with 3 other GSPs and I am always instigating the playtime with them. I am not aggressive, or trying to be the alpha dog, I just love to play. We have a really big yard to romp around in, and I love that. We can play, or I can just hang out in the yard in the grass and soak up the sun. I have a doggie door so I can go in and out of the house as I please, and if it is nice out, I can just bask in the sunshine. After we are done playing, and it gets dark out, I get to snuggle on the couch with my foster mom, and all of the other GSPs. We like to pile on top of each other to sleep. Needless to say, we all get along great. When my foster mom goes to bed, I may stay on the couch, or jump into bed with her, if there is room. Either way is great, and I always come visit in the morning if I slept on the couch all night.
I wear a Petsafe underground fence collar just in case my foster mom thinks I may jump the fence outside. The wire is on top of the fence, and it beeps at me if I get too close to the fence line. Most of the fence here is 6’, but there are some sections that are 5’ and I know what the beep means. I do not get any closer to it and I have not tried to jump the fence at all.
I like toys, I like riding in the car, and I have not chewed anything up in the house. I am a really good house dog, and am definitely potty trained. I can sit, and I am working on recall and the stay command. I am also being trained on an e-collar so when I get my cast off, I can hopefully run off leash with my pals. I am not very good on the leash at this point, but we are working on that, too. The leash seems too confining to me right now, but knowing that I have a lot of room to run around here, I think I will soon not be so leery of the leash.
I have not been in a crate at my foster mom’s house, and she does not know if I am trained to hunt. But, she has chickens here, and I really do not care about them, so not sure how I would do in the hunt field if I had to point at the birds?
I have a very tiny bit of shyness when I first meet a new person. But just give me a few minutes to check you out, and if you pass my sniff test, I will be all yours. I am such a happy, sweet and affectionate girl. I have not met any children since I have been at my foster mom’s house, but I think I probably would like them just the same, as long as they are nice to me.
I am looking for a forever home with a nice big yard, lots of space to run around in, and a really playful active playmate, or playmates, preferably GSPs! A 6’ fence will keep me safely in the yard. Everyone that meets me thinks I am the sweetest and most affectionate pup ever. I ooze love so I want to be loved, too. If you’re thinking about bringing me into your home, I promise to bring you lots of joy and happiness. I love it here at my foster home, but she can’t keep me forever (even though I think she would like to!)
