Remi – Adopted
Most important things for my new family to know about me:
Please keep reading to learn lots more about me.
Here I am, REMI! As you can see, I am a purebred female GSP and my coat is black roan, not the more common liver roan. That makes me stand out among GSPs! I am a 6-year-old beauty who needs a new home because my dad travels and my mom has just recently gone back to work out of our home so that means I am home all alone for 9-10 hours a day. If you have ever owned a GSP, you can imagine how difficult that is for me. I’m typically not an anxious dog but I am becoming more anxious as the days stretch out ahead of me. I need people in my life, more time than what my mom and dad are able to give to me now. They sure aren’t very happy about me being alone for so many hours so they want me to have a home with a family who is around much of the time, one who will take me on adventures and spend a lot of time with me wherever they are.
I am an obedient girl so, although I am crate trained, I have free rein in the house when they are both gone. That works out great because we have a doggy door so I can go in and out as I need towhich means I don’t have accidents in the house. But when no one is home, especially for more than 5 or 6 hours, I have been known to get into the trash if it isn’t put away. That kind of tells you that I am anxious and very lonely when I’m all by myself. I do pace when they are gone because I miss having them at home. Sometimes I get to go to an open-yard boarding facility which I really like because that place lets all of us run around as a pack outside. I love that and the boarding place says I am awesome with other dogs, all sizes and breeds. I really like being with all the dogs and don’t need or want to be the leader or alpha. Like most GSPs, I do love running and I’m pretty good at performing zoomies.
You can probably guess that I really like people and I love to talk to them, especially at mealtime. If it’s time to eat, I will be sure to tell you so. And if you start singing or dancing, I will join right in! I am good with everyone although I haven’t been with small children so that is an unknown. But my current family says I am not a really high energy GSP because, although I do love off-leash running, I also like to hang out in the house and lounge in the sun when my dad and mom are at home. And I love my Kong! At night I sleep in their bedroom on my own bed.
I am an obedient girl knowing typical commands like “sit, stay, come, down and off.” And I also know “bed.” I have been using a no-pull harness when we go on walks. I do sometimes jump up when I‘m excited to go somewhere or when I meet new people. And I do get anxious when I’m left alone for more than 5 or 6 hours. dBut mostly I am a calm and very happy pup. I’m friendly to everyone, humans and dogs, and I love to play. Cats? I’ve never met one so that’s another mystery. I am especially affectionate, loving to cuddle and sit on the floor with my mom so I can gently put my paws on her hands or shoulders. I am also very smart and my mom and dad say I listen really well.
