Roobie – Adopted
I am Roobie (Ruby) and I’ve finally arrived in Colorado! I’ve come from KS and am so ready for my very own home here. As you can probably tell, I am a purebred GSP old and weigh 48 lbs. And I am 4 years old and am spayed. Since I am a female, my name is not Robbie! I am completely housebroken and do not need a crate. My recall is pretty good once I am comfortable with you. I’m OK on a leash but I do pull a bit. My preference, of course, is to be off leash, running in fields and in a very large backyard with a secure 6 ft. privacy fence.
I have a lot of energy and like to be on the move. In my foster home, my mom leaves the patio door open during the day so her other dogs and I can go in and outdoors all day long. We are constantly on the prowl in theirvery large yard where squirrels scamper through the trees and along the fence to taunt us. As I said, I am on the move!
As long as I get a lot of exercise during the day, I am very comfortable in the house. I love having a dog bed to snuggle into as well as a couch or chair to curl up in. And I actually would love to sleep on the bed with my mom or dad. That might take some time because I am a skittish girl for the first several days in a new home. But with patience, kindness, and a little time, I will want to be with you much of the time . . . unless I’m in the yard running and chasing squirrels. I do think I would love to be collar trained so I can go with you on hikes and running on trails. I would love the exercise and being with you. I would be OK living with another dog or two (I live with 5 now!). But eventually, I will want lots of attention from you so being with too many dogs might feel like a lot of competition. I would probably be fine as an only dog as well, as long as you work from home and take me on very frequent off leash runs. I’m not terrible riding in the car but I do need more opportunities toing that. You also need to know that I am not happy when people mess with my feet. But otherwise, spending lots of time with you and running off leash is what I want more than anything.
