Sophia – Adopted
Hi, my name is Sophia and I am an two year old English Pointer. I am looking for my forever home and hoping it is with you! I am called by my foster family as a gentle soul and a very mellow dog. I love spending time with people and wish for a new family where I would be able to go most places with them. I show off my excitement and joy with a full body wiggle and a very busy tail!
I enjoy walks outside and my foster mom says that I am an angelwhen I walk and I don’t pull while I am out. I don’t have a huge prey drive but I am curious about different smells and small animals. I haven’t chased any animals yet, but I am very curious and probably will at some point.
I am working on my confidence and I look for cues from otherdogs and my foster family. I am slowly gaining confidence that I am doing the right thing, but I am very sensitive to emotions in the house and I am unsure what to do when other dogs near me get corrected when they need to change their behavior. I just need to be reassured that I am okay.
I love the dogs in my foster home, but it took me a little bit to warm up but once I knew my boundaries would be respected, I turned into their best friend. I am not quite sure how to play with other dogs but I do enjoy chasing my foster sister and trying to play fetch. I need someone that will work on dog introductions with me so I know what is appropriate. I am also working on learning new behaviors. I am not super food motivated but I am motivated by positive attention from people. I do know sit and I am learning “look” to help connect to my foster family.
I am kennel trained and spend time in there without issues when my foster family leaves. I do sleep with my foster family curled up at the bottom of the bed and don’t move until it is time to get up. I also love to cuddle with the family during down time.
I am a very sweet girl who would make a great addition to any family and would just love to be a part of it all! Please reach out and fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me!
