Willie – ADOPTED!

Willie’s my name and being awesome is my game! I’m a 9-month-old male German Shorthaired Pointer and I’m not just dashingly handsome, I’m also sweet, loving, playful, smart and energetic!

I’m great with other dogs, love to run with my friends and enjoy cuddling on the sofa while my foster mom and dad watch TV or read. I take time warming up to strangers so it’s best not to have me meet people at the door. My foster mom and dad crate me and after company is there for a while I’m ok. I like kids but am very active so 10 and up would be best.

I’m e-collar trained and respond well to a whistle or a simple tone on the collar when I run with my GSP buddies. When another dog goes on point over a bird I immediately honor them and don’t move a muscle until they do. My foster folks are doing some hunt training with me and I LOVE being a bird dog! I’m learning to use my nose, am not gun shy and become very enthusiastic about those birds.

I’m crate-trained, housebroken use a dog door, and sleep through the night. I do have a slight counter-surfing problem but we’re working on that! I like lounging on the sofa or sunbathing in the yard, playing with my friends and being loved on by my people. With patience I will be an even better family member than I am already!
